Nowadays , people are getting more and more involved in social networks , since they are a way for us to communicate and interact with each other . And although social networks may have positive sides , they can also impact some people negatively . Some people see social networks as a way to hide behind their screen and bully others which can have a very negative impact on a person . But , regardless of the bullying issue , social networks feed our ego ; every new like , every new follower , and every new comment gives some people a reason to look down on others and is a reason for some to feel superior . Some people feel powerful because of the number of likes or followers they have on their page , which is wrong , since everything that happens on the internet is virtual and isn't actually real . Some people's lives and personalities are based on their virtual appearance and some have gotten all of their confidence and have built up their personalities based on social media . In conclusion social networks have given us too much power and have influenced many people's lives , and they are the reason for some to be caught up in a somewhat parallel universe
